This tool was awesome. I had to put a new timing belt on my 04 Forester and this tool made the job go so much smoother. For me this was my first ever timing belt replacement on a subaru. I was paranoid about messing something up or not getting the timing set right. After doing the job I see no other way to easily and quickly do the job without this tool.

I absolutely LOVE this tool! It's incredibly thoughtful design makes it easy to do an ej205 timing belt job with one person. The price is a steal too! If I bought this off the tool truck it would be more than twice the price. The quality is great. The ease of use is phenomenal because the magnets hold it in place tight and the compact and curved design allows for easy no-guessing visual access to timing marks. The wrenches needed to work the tool are 19mm and 17mm which is handy as you use those for everything anyway. Why pay the dealership $700 labor when this tool makes the hardest and most dangerous part of this job safe and easy for about $50! And if that's not enough, it's made in the U.S.A. AND has a lifetime warranty!

If your changing a timing belt on a 4 cam Subaru engine you need this tool. I'm a pretty good garage mechanic but was a little nervous changing the belt on by 2002 WRX. This tool kept the cams locked in place. The job was much easier than I expected. This tool really helped. It is worth the price just for the piece of mind.

Let me be the first to give you the run down on this tool. It works!!! I have an 02 wrx with ej205. This tool is excellent to get the job done. Here is a little tip. As you can't simply lock it down and remove then install the new belt. Loosen the top cam and rotate it clock wise a tooth. Then install the belt and rotate back and tighten. Otherwise the directions for the tool are great! I really have to give credit for who ever designed this tool. If your even considering doing a timing belt job you really should get this tool.
